Prim Strings is a Swedish manufacturer of strings for bowed instruments.
We have been producing high quality strings for more than 60 years.
All strings are produced in Sweden and we are proud to export our products
to demanding musicians all over the world.

Prim manufacture steel core strings for Cello, Viola, Violin and the Swedish instrument Nyckelharpa.
All strings are made of flattened high quality chromium steel wire wound around a solid steel core.

Prim Cello strings are high quality strings, especially known for their bright and warm tone. They are used by a broad variety of professionals and students.

The Strings are available in three gauges; Soft, Medium and Orchestra. Orchestra is the heaviest gauge.
The Medium gauge suits most instruments well, but be sure to experiment; in many instruments, the best sound is obtained by using a combination of different gauges!

The Orchestra gauge is the typical choice for cellos with a darker sound and musicians with a powerful playing style.

The Medium gauge is also available for small sized instruments. 3/4, 1/2 and 1/4.
